A cut-in junction, sometimes called a junction cut-in or property connection point (PCP), is the process of creating a new connection point from a building’s plumbing or sewer sideline into an existing sewer main. This junction allows wastewater from your property to safely and legally discharge into the public sewer network.
While the main sewer is maintained by Sydney Water, cut-in junctions fall under the works required by developers, builders or property owners as part of new builds, subdivisions or alteration projects.
In Sydney’s Minor Works Sewer regime, accredited constructors (like Zaoud Plumbing) are permitted to insert junctions into existing VC or PVC sewers under certain size and depth limits.
